Slightly unfair on Nicky in my opinion. Decent crosses into the box and he'll put them away more often than not but he got very little service on Saturday but I do think Smithy has earned a starting spot when the internationals are over.
Think the fifth thing we learned should be changed to that it is glaringly obvious we don't have a winger to replace Joe Cardle. No idea if Ryan is versatile enough to fill that role temporarily or if we need to bring someone in on loan but something needs to be done in that area right now unless an emergency trip to Lourdes gets Joe back in the team.
Football is a team game...eleven players play against eleven players. Dundee United fielded the same number of players as The Pars, unfortunately for us, all their players contributed to the game. Regrettably, we had one player who was a total waste of space, readers can decide for themselves who that player was, as I don't do public castigation of individual players. (But you get my point, I hope!))
No doubt team management is another important factor and the Manager's decisions on tactics are vital...occasionally it is necessary to alter the starting shape of the team when weaknesses are spotted. It is important that these failures are corrected quickly during the game; doesn't seem to me that our Manager is capable of thinking on his feet and making "on the spot" alterations.
I don't claim to be an expert on football but sometimes it is wise for The Boss to take steps to guarantee that the basics are applied.
P.S.We are not the best team in the Championship like many Pars fans seem to think...hopefully we will improve and achieve that accolade. Just don't get above ourselves, makes us all appear to be "tossers".
